Cameron Hull best Number 3 at NSW Polocrosse Zone Championships

August 18, 2010

It was a successful weekend for the Bingara Polocrosse Club when five of its members represented the New England Zone at the 2010 NSW Polocrosse Zone Championships hosted by Gulgong Polocrosse Club.

Glenn Hull, Jason Creed, Troy Davey and Phillip Frewen were all selected to represent in the New England Senior Men’s team whilst Cameron Hull was selected to represent in the New England Sub Junior team.

The senior men’s competition was a tough competition and saw the men come up against the South West Slopes, Hunter Valley and the Gippsland teams.  The games were fast paced and action packed with some excellent attacking and defence from both sides.

The Bingara boys along with Col Turner from Inverell and Stewart Elms from Guyra all played their best and were able to walk away successful winning the Senior Men’s A-Grade Runners Up trophy.

The sub junior competition saw some tough competition as the boys played teams from throughout NSW. The New England Sub Junior team consisted of Alex Grills, Jack McKemy, Callen Moffett and Tim Finlayson of Guyra, Bailey Woodward of Inverell and Cameron Hull of Bingara.

The weekend saw the boys take convincing wins against the North West, Western District 1 and Western District 2 teams putting them into the grand final against the North West side on Sunday afternoon.

Bingara’s Cameron Hull had an excellent weekend showing everyone he and horse Holly were made for defence as he stopped a number of attempts at goal.  Cameron, together with his team mates, were able to keep the ball off the competition and put it through their goal posts to win the A Grade Sub Junior competition.

Cameron Hull was also awarded the Best Number 3 title for the sub junior competition and was awarded a horse rug for his efforts.

Congratulations must go to the Bingara Polocrosse Club’s Cameron Hull, Glenn Hull, Jason Creed, Troy Davey and Phillip Frewen for representing for their zone and having a successful weekend at the 2010 NSW Polocrosse Zone Championships.
