An enthusiastic group of women attended the first Bingara U3A workshop last Thursday morning at the Community College.
The workshop was on making gift cards and tags with an emphasis on Christmas and was presented by well-known artist and card maker, Barb Leech.
In addition to her wide knowledge and talent, Barb brought all sorts of useful bits and pieces ranging from small wooden animals through rubber stamps to shape cutters. She also demonstrated how to do quillage, a paper rolling technique used to very good effect by a couple of the participants.
veryone took home a range of creations, many of which showed considerable artistic talent. One participant is already requesting a repeat of the workshop for Easter.
For those who are less artistically inclined, the next U3A activity is on December 2 and is about how to keep your lawn mower and whipper snipper going. For more information, please email email@example.com.
