Artists Raffaella Picotti and Catherine Player were both in attendance and gave moving talks about their artworks to an intimate audience. David Waters – the artist in residence – was unable to attend the opening.

David’s sculpture and found object pieces were on the day described as “whacky”, and “unexpected”. Raffaella’s coloured pencils, pastels and scratchboard were captivating. Catherine’s acrylic paintings were amusing. Catherine spoke right from the heart of her love of art. She’s very commissionalble as is Raffaella’s renditions of domestic animals. They can be contacted via their Facebook pages ‘Firebox Art by Cath Player’ and ‘Artraff Artist’.

The green prize was once again popular with three winners. For those who missed out on the opening, the exhibition will run through May. These artists have travelled long distances to show in Gwydir. Come by Ceramic Break to see their beautiful works.
