- Upper Horton, Croppa Creek and North Star will also be celebrating the festive season with dates still to be confirmed.
“Christmas Carnivals across the Shire are great for the whole community to come together and celebrate the festive season,” said Gwydir Shire Council’s, Marketing and Promotions Team Leader, Georgia Standerwick.
The Warialda Christmas Carnival will be at the Recreation Ground with barbecue, market stalls, local entertainment, jumping castle, rain dance, wife and farm carrying competition as well as the Regional Australia Bank Christmas Light winners announced.
The committee has also organised a Halloween disco for kids to dress up and boogie on Saturday 2nd November from 6pm-8pm at the Warialda Golf and Bowling Club. “It will be a gold coin donation per child as we know things are tough financially at the moment for many families,” said committee member, Mrs Natasha Price. “There will also be lollies bags and glow sticks available with all monies raised go towards the running costs of the carnival.”
The Warialda Christmas Carnival committee would like to thank their major sponsors: Gwydir Shire Council, Warialda Rotary and the Regional Australia Bank as well as all the local businesses that have donated to their raffle. “We truly appreciate everyone’s support,” concluded Natasha.
