Climatologist to speak at Landcare Adventure

Martin Babakhan, Climatologist at the University of Newcastle and ABC Radio weather man, will head an impressive line-up of speakers at the 10th Anniversary New England North West Landcare Adventure which will be held in Bingara.

The theme for the Adventure is Rejuvenation with Water, and will be held over two days, Wednesday and Thursday, April 2 and 3.

Other speakers include Associate Professor Robert Baker, Geographer at the University of New England, and Ms Pauline Roberts, who will speak about the science and practice of water divining.

Awards will be made to outstanding landcarers from each of the five Landcare networks in the region.  During the two days, a number of site visits will take place.

Tropical pastures and water divining will be the topics at ‘Arabanoo’, where Ian Armstrong and Pauline Roberts will share their knowledge.

Landowner Bob Muir, and Mike Lloyd will discuss off-stream watering systems and riparian works at the property Yeral, and Garry McDouall will speak on Water design options for adapting to climate change.
