Combining lifestyle and a career

The appeal of a country lifestyle has drawn builder, Dougal Cameron, and his partner, Rachele Curran, to settle in the Bingara area.

Dougal Cameron of Cameron BuildersDougal, who has 10 years experience in the building industry, grew up on the land at Roma, went to boarding school in Brisbane and after a stint in north Queensland working as a ringer, returned to Brisbane where he completed a building apprenticeship.

He has worked on architectural renovations, built townhouses, unit blocks, new homes, commercial work, and worked as a builder and a carpenter. He is licensed to trade in both NSW and Queensland.

As well as building, Dougal is involved in the running of his family’s cattle operation on the properties Derralea, which his parents, David and Sally, bought six years ago, and the newly purchased Lyndon Vale.

Cameron Builders is a small local building business, specialising in quality home renovations and extensions.

“Our team approach combines expertise, management and exceptional results,” Dougal said.  “Our success will be directly linked to the relationships we build with our clients. Cameron builders offer a complete personalised building package where you deal direct with the builder through the construction to your project’s completion.”

“We are a reliable, licenced, affordable and insured building company. We service the Bingara and surrounding areas but I am prepared to travel, and no job is too big or small.”

Services include renovations and extensions, new homes and additions, decks and pergolas, bathrooms and kitchen refurbishing, verandas and carports, insurance work, built-in wardrobes, timber stairs, Maintenance works, concreting, fencing and roofing.
Dougal’s most recent build, an art gallery for acclaimed Queensland artist, Lyn Barnes, is featured on his Facebook page, along with other bathrooms and deck projects he has completed.  Visit Cameron Builders Facebook Page for examples of Dougal’s work.

Although she was born in Brisbane and grew up there, Rachele also has ties with the land as her family owns cattle properties in Queensland. She has a diploma in Tourism, and worked for Qantas as ground staff for five and a half years before moving to Bingara.

When not building, or attending to work on the properties, Dougal enjoys playing cricket.
