Come to the party!

January 25, 2019

Looking for a new and exciting challenge and have fun at the same time? The North West Theatre Company extends an invitation to all aspiring actors to come to auditions for parts in our next production, It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To, on Saturday February 2nd upstairs at the Roxy from 11am.

Curious about the title? The play is an Australian comedy about a man who is given three months to live and at the end of the three months calls his family together for a party. Unfortunately the party does not quite go as he planned.

There are six in the cast – Ron and his wife Dawn, their son Michael, their two daughters Debbie and Karen and the undertaker. Ron and Dawn could be anywhere between 50 and 70, their children could be anywhere between 20 and 40 and the undertaker could be any age and any gender. How fortunate we are to have the services of Terry Brady as director!

Terry will run auditions on the 2nd and be available on 3rd if anyone cannot make the 2nd. He will then cast the play and run some readings during that week.

Rehearsals will be arranged at times to suit the cast. Opening night is March 30th and the play runs for two weekends.

This is a great opportunity to work with a professional director.

NWTC has produced a number of shows with first time actors and crew such as The 39 Steps, Murdered to Death and Gosforth’s Fete and they have all found it fun and rewarding. If you are interested in being in this production either as an actor or part of the backstage crew, please contact Ros Moulton on 0412 081 642. If you are not sure if you can act, come anyway – it really can be fun!
