Community Awards Night: An opportunity to celebrate successes

September 14, 2009

Gwydir Shire residents get a chance to celebrate the achievements of their business and learning communities at the Gwydir Community Achievement Awards evening on Thursday September 24 at the Warialda Golf and Bowling Club.

The awards night will recognize excellence within the business communities of Gwydir Shire – either by the owners of those businesses or by employees of those local businesses.

It will also be an opportunity to acknowledge excellence in achievement by the vocational students within our two secondary schools.

More importantly it will give us the chance recognize and celebrate the commitment displayed by the nominees in the various business categories to providing outstanding service to our local business clientele.

It will also afford us the opportunity to congratulate those students who have been nominated for their laudable efforts towards achieving excellence in their chosen vocational field. The Awards evening will commence at 6:30pm.

The compere for the evening will be Peter Caddy from 2NZ in Inverell and the guest speaker will be a past vocational student from Warialda High School, Shaun Stevenson, who is currently the Manager of Big W in Armidale.

Cost of the evening is $13.00 which includes a roast dinner.

Bookings can be made by phoning Warialda High School on 6729 1000, preferably before September 16.
