Community College update.

October 19, 2012

The Community College wishes the HSC students all the best for their exams commencing 15 October, I believe.

We were successful in receiving the go ahead for “Tech Savvy Seniors” from NSW Government.  This six week course is offered to any “senior” person who would like to know more about using their computer, mobile phone, email, ipad, facebook or digital camera.

It is a flexible content course in that if there is something you would like to know more about please ask the trainer. It is scheduled to commence Friday, 19 October at 10.30am-12.30pm and it is only $10!

If the Gwydir Art Show has made you want to try painting or drawing for yourself, why not enrol in our Pencil Drawing with Peter Pollock or Painting with Jess Russell-Davies. Both of our tutors are successful artists in their own right – look for them on the internet – and are keen to share their knowledge with others. These courses commence 16 October and 17 October respectively and continue for 8 weeks.

Even the best run organisations have a bit of a glitch from time to time and so our Term 4 Course Guide has been held up. Our coffee making, RSA and RCG courses scheduled for 12, 13 & 14 October will not be running on these dates but please let me know if you would like to attend any of these at another time.

I can’t emphasis enough that if there is something you need training in or have a hobby you would like to learn more about don’t hesitate to let me know. I am always keen and happy to work with local organisations, businesses and individuals to offer training co-ordination, our facilities or even to help advertise courses. Even if you would like to just drop in for a cuppa and chat with me on a Tuesday or Friday, you are welcome.
