Countdown to Film Club Opening

February 15, 2016

North West Theatre Company’s very successful Film Club is again inviting fine film lovers to join the club, and it is now only two weeks from Sunday that the 2016 season commences with the classic World War Two film “The Great Escape” – an epic true story of the mass escape from German prisoner-of-war camp Stalag Luft 111.

This terrific movie is followed by nine more, screening each month on the last Sunday, at 4pm. Now in its 6th year, the Film Club has more than 40 members. The benefits of membership are substantial, and include regular newsletters each month about the film to be shown, an introduction to the film, and great social interaction after the film finishes, plus the added bonus of the December Christmas party and, throughout the year, 11 films for less than $6 per film.

The 2016 program is:

  • Sunday February 28: “The Great Escape” – 1963 – 165 minutes
  • Sunday March 20: “ A Fish Called Wanda” – 1988 – 103 minutes

The Film Club works on an annual subscription basis to enable us to secure affordable distribution rights, which in turn lets the club keep membership fees at a low level. We also make a separate accommodation for visitors.

Joining the club is easy – you can take out membership at the Visitor Information Centre, ring John Wearne 0418 419 684 or Ros Moulton 02 6724 1613, or it can be processed at the Roxy prior to the first screening of “The Great Escape” on Sunday, February 28. The cost is $60 per person for the year.

See you at the movies!
