Following is a letter from Rick Hutton, President of Bingara and District VISION 20/20, to the editor of the Bingara Advocate. Rick said:
"It was my pleasure to have been involved in the Discover Gwydir Forum #2 held at the Warialda Golf and Bowling Club last Thursday evening.
Leeah Daley and her team did a splendid job in both preparing for and presenting the program and attracted an audience of more than seventy people.
Especially pleasing was the attendance of five of our Gwydir Shire Councilors and a considerable number of GSC staff, freely giving of their time to add their enthusiasm and input to the “discovery” process.
Guests Noeline Briggs-Smith (Aboriginal Cultural Heritage), Jen Southeron (Gwydir Birds), Carmen Southwell (Allan Cunningham Trail) and Jaimie Flegerbein(The Gwydir Good Life Story) gave excellent presentations and were graciously introduced by MC Graham Moxey.
Many comments and ideas were collected from the attendees. These will be added to those previously gained from Discovery Gwydir #1 held earlier at the Roxy Theatre in Bingara.
It is planned to have a third Discover Gwydir Forum, possibly at Ceramic Break Sculpture Park, where the range of ideas and comments will be formatted and displayed ready to be progressed into community Projects.
Any further ideas and comments are most welcome. They can be forwarded to any of the GSC offices. Watch our local press and web-sites for further information. There is still a lot to “discover” and opportunities to be developed in the amazing Gwydir Shire."
