End of Year Gathering for Vision 2020

November 19, 2014

The Bingara and District Vision 2020 President, Philippa Morris, invites you to the December general meeting and supper. It will be held at the Imperial Hotel on Thursday evening December 4 from 6:00pm.

“We have held three open Dinner Meetings over the year with our guest speakers being, our Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, our state member for New England, Adam Marshall, and Penny Blatchford, an effective lobbyist and advocate for no coal seam gas developments in prime agricultural areas,” said Philippa Morris.

“2015 is presenting as a very significant year for our town and district,’” Philippa said. “With NSW state elections to be held in March, the issue of shire amalgamations is more than a hot topic – it is a potential ‘game changer’ for the whole shire. V2020 is well placed to act as a conduit for public ideas and information outside of government,”she added.

Ongoing V2020 Projects include the What’s On community notice board, the Family Tree Orchard at The Living Classroom and expanding a Local Food economy.

“Any suggestions for other V2020 projects for 2015 can be raised at this meeting, including suggestions for more in our series of dinner meetings generously sponsored by New England Mutual, for whose continuing support we are very grateful,” Philippa said.

If you have any suggestions for changes to Vision 2020’s structure and how it operates you might also like to put your ideas forward. Our AGM will be held in the first week in February and all executive positions will be available.

The December 4 meeting will be followed by a finger food supper. To assist us in our catering, please advise your intention to attend by phoning the Secretary, Rick Hutton, on 0428 255 380, by December 2nd.
