Entries open for North West Film Festival.

Entries for the 2015 North West Film Festival opened on the 1st December 2014 and will close midnight 18th August 2015.  The categories for films this year are:

Category 1 Tell us something…fictional
This includes narratives, or send-ups of TV shows, mockumentaries, or anything that might make us sit up and think, or stop for a laugh, a cry, or be very, very afraid!

Category 2 Tell us something…factual
This includes documentaries that might make us sit up and think, training videos, videos of the match winning goal, or the school’s big musical number, vocational education films, subject specific films, video digital portfolios etc.

Category 3 – Dream it, dance it, do it!
This includes music videos, animation, experimental films, and other videos not fitting into the other categories.

For each of these categories there are three age categories:

  • Primary (maximum 5 minutes)
  • Secondary (maximum 10 minutes)
  • TAFE and Community (maximum 10 minutes

The TAFE, community, and selected school finalist films will be shown at the evening presentation ceremony at the Roxy Theatre, Bingara. The judging panel will include film industry professionals.

Prizes include $200 for each category winner as well as $1000 for the overall winner.

The competition is open to film makers of any age. Entries are welcome from overseas film makers but, they must hold an Australian Bank account to receive prize money.

Films that were made prior to the 11th of September 2014 are not eligible for entry into the competition.
