North West Theatre Company presents ‘Shadows’
21/11/2020 - 22/11/2020

The North West Theatre Company is keen to get back into the Roxy Theatre with a one act play plus dinner/lunch in November of this year. The Company has selected the play “Shadows” by Josephine Carter to be directed by Rick Hutton.

“Shadows” is a comedy/drama centred on a senior lady Erica Strong who lives alone in the big family house. Erica is visited by her three children Susan, Anne and Martin who all want her to leave the house and go into a ‘home for the retired’.

Erica is strong willed and resists all suggestions for her to leave. She has her treasures, her possessions and her memories in the old house. And there are her ‘shadows’.  A man and a woman are also in the house. They can speak to each other and to Erica, but Susan, Anne and Martin cannot see or hear them.

Susan’s husband Ted is returning from America. He is a successful businessman and wants to fund Erica’s move to her new residence.

Dr Blake, Erica’s physician, is coming to her house to make the arrangements, but there are some unexpected stories to be told and some strange twists to the tale.
