Fine Weather for Bingara Polocrosse Carnival

June 29, 2011

The Bingara Polocrosse Club hosted their annual Polocrosse Competition at the Bingara Showground over the weekend and although numbers were down the warm weather made for a perfect weekend.“The numbers have been average this year,” said President of the Bingara Polocrosse Club, Glen Hull.  "This is mainly due to it clashing with a State fixure this weekend,” he said.

Despite this, the weekend proved a success with the Bingara Polocrosse teams having a successful weekend. The A Grade Bingara 1 team won two games and lost two and the Bingara 2 team, which consisted of two players from outside the Bingara zone, won three games and lost one.

Louise and Cameron Hull were unable to play in the Bingara 2 team as Cameron was down at the State Sub Juniors Polo-crosse Selection Carnival in Sydney. “It has been a great weekend and I’d particularly like to thank our Club members and volunteer workers who helped throughout the weekend,” said Mr Hull.

Mr Hull ensured a special thanks went out to the event’s sponsors including major prize money sponsor: Horseland of Armidale, Richardson’s Home Timber and Hardware of Armidale, The Imperial Hotel Bingara, Meat on Maitland, H Fay and Sons, McGregors and the Gwydir Shire Council.  “The numbers were fine, the weather was fine and the fields looked great,” said Mr Hull.
