FOOD for THOUGHT offers sweets before the main meal!

July 27, 2010

Saturday July 31 is Bingara Orange Festival Day. A highlight this year will be the FOOD for THOUGHT Shop Front at the Landcare Office in Maitland Street.

Bingara and District VISION 20/20, as a part of the Bingara Community Economic Development Plan (BCEDP),  will host a display of recent community achievements and collect ideas from community members.

The community members will be rewarded with a delicious Bingara Pancake complete with Special Orange Festival Sauce and with an optional dollop of cream.

The Shop Front will be open between 10:30am and 1:30pm and the displays will include photos, plans, maps and information about concerts, projects, and completed tasks. There will be photos from the recent community musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, the Roxy Restorations, Riverscape Project, Showground Up-grade, Senior’s activities and many more.

Visitors to the Shop Front will be invited to write down their ideas, thoughts and comments on all and any aspect of the Bingara Community, especially on its opportunities and threats through the next five to fifteen years.

Then, on Wednesday August 4 at the Roxy Theatre, a public workshop where the community can engage in discussion, debate and summarizing of ideas will be held. The workshop will commence at 6:30pm. There will be an introduction by the northern region co-ordinator of projects for the NSW Department of Industry and Investment, Pieter Verasdonck, and the evening will conclude with a light supper.
