The Festival will take place at The Roxy in Bingara on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September and promises to deliver a stunning showcase of films as well as a stellar line-up of special guests.

The series was a huge hit with audiences and a ratings success for the ABC. In April 2012 he won a Silver Logie for his stunning portrayal of the media magnate.

Rob’s television production company produced the award-winning comedy, Chandon Pictures, seen on Movie Extra and the ABC.

Chandon Pictures now plays in over 15 territories around the world, including the USA and UK and was nominated for multiple Logie and AFI awards. As the writer of the series Calrton won a coveted AWGIE award.

While readily recognisable as a ‘likeable’ guy in many comedies, as a younger actor Rob often played the bad guy in Australian drama.

Since getting his head flushed down a toilet in The Year My Voice Broke, Rob’s been thrown out of Summer Bay by Alf…kicked off E’Street by the Reverend Bob…had his testicles removed in A Country Practice…had his kidney stolen in Muggers…been shot dead as a stalker in Water Rats…had his heart removed by the side of the road on All Saints…blew himself into a thousand pieces on Blue Heelers…and killed a granny on Thank God You’re Here.

Rob’s ambition is to die on all good Australian dramas.

Jason van Genderen won Best Film and People’s Choice Award at Tropfest New York with his pioneer work Mankind is No Island in 2008.

He has experimented with mobile phones and pocket cameras to create stories that stand comfortably alongside big-budget short films on the international stage.

Attracting numerous awards for his films, Jason has become a frequent visitor to the stages of Tropfest (Sydney, NY and Las Vegas), Aspen Shortsfest, Edinburgh, Palm Springs and San Francisco International Short Film Festivals, to name but a few.
