Giant step forward for Bullets

November 19, 2007

The Bingara Bullets Rugby League Club took a giant step forward with the appointment of ex NRL player, Andrew Hart as the Club’s Coach for the 2008 season. Hart comes to the Club with years of experience that includes stints at St. George, South Sydney as well as in England.

The next step in the Club’s return to football is a Christmas function on December 15 with training expected to commence almost immediately.

Hart’s appointment was the highlight of the club’s meeting last Sunday that resulted in the election of a very strong committee.

Rod King was returned as President, Mark McGowan and Steve McGarrity (Vice Presidents), Ray Neal (Secretary/Treasurer) and a general committee of Dave Rose, Michael Wade, Neil Galvin, Mick Walton, Peter Walton, Chris Boyle, Heath Barton, Peter Pollock and Graeme Dixon. Boyle and Barton were appointed delegates to Minor League and McGowan, McGarrity and Mick Walton are delegates to Group 19.

The Club is interested in finding some helpers for the canteen. For years a number of ladies under the leadership of Marion Allen have managed the facility, however they now need the help of some younger people.

Anyone interested may contact Marion for full details. Another position that needs some more recruits is for First Aid Officers.

Anyone interested may contact Rod King at the Newsagency. The Club underwrites the cost of training that is arranged during the summer.

To assist the coach with fitness, Peter Hancock and Peter Pollock were appointed as fitness coordinators, a job that they were highly successful at in 2006.

Finally the Club has commenced signing of players and all interested should call at the Newsagency before December 15. The objective is to have the majority of the squad signed and ready for intensive training as soon as possible.

A roll call of numbers indicated that at least 20 are available and ready to go with a few more in the pipeline.

New players are very welcome to come along on December 15.
