Good numbers at 2016 Annual Bingara Pony Camp

September 27, 2016

After a moist start, including a hail storm on Sunday afternoon, Bingara Pony Camp got into full swing in bright sunshine on Monday morning.

This year there are 65 members of Bingara Pony Club attending the Camp, including four generations of the Withers family.

In addition to the riders, a contingent of parents, grandparents and other volunteers are spending the week at the Showground to make sure the Pony Camp runs smoothly.

The riders have been organised into A to F troops, depending on experience, and six older Associate members taking part.

New rider, Hannah Nicolle, with her horse Mickey, was having a great time at Pony Camp, with lots of help from her ‘Nina’, Helen Nicolle.

Pony Club President, Sinclair Munro, said the riders were a good mix of regular attendees, with several new members.

“Next year will be a big one for Bingara Pony Club, because the Zone 8 Jamboree will be held here in Bingara,” Mr. Munro said.

At the conclusion of the week of instruction gymkhana will be held on Saturday. Bingara’s jamboree team will be chosen to compete in the Zone 8 Jamboree at Gravesend next week.
