September 28, 2017

Time is running out to nominate your favourite employee or business for this year’s Gwydir Community Business and Education Awards.

Now in its 20th year the awards aim to celebrate the achievements of local Vocational Education students and businesses throughout the shire.

The awards are broken up into five categories: Senior Employee/Proprietor 30 and Over, Junior Employee under 30, Small Business (5 employees or less), Large Business (5 or more) and Farm – Most Sustainable or Innovative.

The nominees will be judged on a number of areas including customer service and product knowledge.

‘We are really hoping that locals will show support for their favourite local businesses and nominate them for the awards’ said Georgia Standerwick, Marketing and Promotions Team Leader for Gwydir Shire Council.

Nomination forms can be picked up from the Bingara and Warialda Newsagency as well as the Bingara and Warialda Council Offices.

Nominations close on Friday September 29 with the awards night being held on Thursday November 16 at the Warialda Town Hall.

Tickets for the presentation dinner are $30 or $25 for early bird bookings. Tickets go on sale on Thursday October 25. For more information contact Georgia Standerwick on 0409 901 540 or email gstanderwick@gwydir.nsw.gov.au
