Gwydir Libraries offer new click and collect service

April 2, 2020

Interesting times call for interesting measures, and the Gwydir Libraries have now introduced a click and collect borrowing service.  This creative solution will allow access to the library’s collection under these circumstances, avoiding excess disruption to its many members.

WORD ON THE STREET: Bingara Library’s free book trolley on Maitland Street offers a range of free books to take – no checking out, no returns, no late fees.

After just a week in action the service has been embraced readily by borrowers, with reserves exceeding expectations, to the delight of Gwydir Library Manager, Gail Philpott.

To access the service, you will need to phone your local library or log onto http://ow.ly/ouXF50yZ6pm, using your borrowing number and password to reserve items. Once the item is ready, you will receive a notification via email or phone. If you have forgotten your membership number, please contact the library via phone or email to check.

As a further measure to stop the spread of the virus the library will not be accepting book returns until further notice. Instead hold your book and it will be automatically renewed until it is safe to be returned.

A trolley full of free books has been placed out the front of both each library. Bingara’s street library books will be available daily from 9:00 – 1:00pm, whilst Warialda will have books available during normal trading hours.

Gail Philpott is encouraging everyone to utilise this service which she will be replenishing daily. “Please help yourself and enjoy” she says.

The library is there for all. For further details contact via email or phone Bingara 67242064, Warialda 67293038 or the Library Services Coordinator 0437 355149.
