Honey, have you got talent?

August 24, 2016

This year’s Honey Festival will take place on Saturday 3rd September and will see the return of the annual ‘Honey I’ve Got Talent’ talent search. The talent search will take place at 4.00pm at the Warialda Recreation Ground following the Grand Parade at 3.00pm.

Actors, jugglers, comedians, poets, musicians, magicians and entertainers of all kinds are invited to enter the competition. There are three age categories: Primary up to 12 yrs of age, Secondary aged 13-17, and Senior for entries aged 18 and above.

“We are really excited about the talent search; it is a great way to showcase the talent we have in Warialda while celebrating a much loved Warialda event,” said Sharnie Kent, Festival Committee member.

“It will be a great way to end the festival, watching some great entertainment under the trees as the sun sets. There will be a barbecue, bar and canteen facilities available and people are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the afternoon in comfort,” Sharnie said.

Close to $1,500 worth of cash and prizes is up for grabs as part of the competition which festival organisers hope will attract numerous entries and some top class acts.

The talent competition will be followed by a concert by local talent Benny Nelson who will be making a special trip back to Warialda for the festival. Benny will kick off at approximately 5.30pm.

Entry forms are available from the Warialda Visitor Information Centre or give the friendly staff a call on 6729 0046 and they will email a form.
