Honours for Brenda and Wendy

November 28, 2009

New South Wales State President Jewel Buchanan recently visited the Warialda bowling club. This was a special trip organised for President Jewel to meet and have discussions with members of the small isolated clubs of the north west, namely Warialda, Bingara, Ashford and Croppa Creek.

The day commenced with a guard of honour for President Jewel and this was followed with a morning of bowls.

After lunch, President Jewel spoke on how important it was for small clubs to survive and that although the association headquarters are in Sydney, the executive committee are accessible at all times and if any member of a small isolated club has a query or a problem, they are as close as the phone.

President Jewel also explained that despite the many changes the game has undergone there are more big changes in the pipeline awaiting ratification.  Following her talk, President Jewel honoured several membersof the clubs present by presenting them with merit badges.

Among those honoured were Bingara President Brenda Rodger and Vice President Wendy Reading. Congratulations to both ladies!
