How do you prepare for “An Outbreak of Wellness”?

March 31, 2016

Our health is the most precious possession we can have. It determines how we live, love, work, communicate even how we view and appreciate the world around us. To be well and to stay healthy is a desire for all, but a struggle for many.

On a community scale, we often hear of ‘outbreaks of illness’, but rarely, if ever, do we hear of an ‘outbreak of wellness’. It is possible to overcome illness, but to become ‘well’ and to stay well, requires commitment, and more importantly, awareness.

“We are what we eat!” This is a saying that became very popular in the later decades of the 20th Century, as science and ‘fads’ converged, to create all the diet options, to deal with lifestyle and health issues. It was during this time that greater awareness of ‘gut flora’, led to a reappraisal of how we interact with the environment around us and with the food we eat.

While genetics may determine our predisposition to health and illness, and the quality of our environment might intercede, it is what we eat, how we exercise, and our mental attitude to life and living, that impacts on how well we truly are.

Graeme SaitThe Gwydir Learning Region is hosting an evening at the Roxy Theatre on Friday April 8, titled, “An Outbreak of Wellness!”. The guest presenter that evening will be Graeme Sait. Graeme is an author/educator responsible for hundreds of published articles and a popular book entitled, "Nutrition Rules!".

He is the founder of leading Australian company, Nutri-Tech Solutions, and he formulated most of their 200+ unique products. He also developed and teaches the internationally acclaimed, NTS Four-Day, ‘Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture’.

Graeme has trained over 20,000 farmers, gardeners, teachers and consultants on four continents over 15 years with this unique course. He specialises in soil, plant and human nutrition and their profound interconnection.

At “An Outbreak of Wellness!” Graeme will focus on Human Health. Expect to be excited and amazed by what is now known about the food we eat, and to be a little bit concerned and frightened by how some popular foods are making us sick.

For the sake of yourself, and your family, this is an evening not to be missed. Please come along, to learn, to engage, and to be entertained. There will be supper provided, including a few food items that might surprise and even excite you.

Place this date into your diary. The cost for the evening is $20. Bookings for “An Outbreak of Wellness!” will be available through the Bingara Visitor Information Centre. Phone 6724 0066.
