We have been back into rehearsing, getting back to the performance level we were at last year. The set has been built again, and most importantly, tickets are back on sale.
To our delight, most ticket holders from 2021 opted to roll their booking over to the new year. Thank you to all our supporters for showing so much confidence in our company. We will not let you down.
So, what can you expect from the North West Theatre Company’s production of Oliver Twist?
Ours is a play with a bit of music. We have taken Charles Dickens’ classic tale of the orphan boy Oliver Twist to be a short, family focused entertainment. All of the well known and loved characters are there, Oliver, Dodger, Fagin, Mr Bumble, Bill Sykes to name but a few. And, the familiar places are there too: The Workhouse, Fagin’s Lair, The Tavern and the Courthouse.
“Oliver Twist has been a delightful experience for me,” said Director, Rick Hutton.
“How many Directors can say that they have worked with their cast for more than half a year. Indeed, some of our young players have grown considerably taller in that time. I hope they will still fit into their costumes.”
And, talking of costumes, our special thanks go to the Bankstown Theatrical Society from where we hired our costumes last August. Very generously they allowed us to keep all the costumes right through to our new dates in March.
If you have not yet booked to see Oliver Twist, please do so through the Bingara Visitor Information Centre on 6724 0066.
Performances will be on Saturday nights March 19 and 26 at 7:30pm and on Sundays March 20 and 27 as well as matinees at 1:30pm.
The cast has also offered to do a special school’s performance on Wednesday March 23, to benefit the Country Education Fund.
