Ian Hart Commemorative Day a great success!

July 29, 2008

A very successful Showjumping weekend was held in Bingara recently, run in conjunction with the Ian Hart Commemorative Day, run on the Saturday.  Combining the days allows children who would ordinarily not compete at jumping events to have another day of competition and FUN.  The warm sunny conditions saw a good turn out with competitors coming from far and wide.

One of the judges in the sporting events commented on the tremendous camaraderie between competitors from the various clubs, they spurred each other on to achieve success and got as much out of seeing their friends do well as they did when they succeeded themselves.  That’s what it’s all about sometimes!

Both Elli Sinclair and Jacqueline Coombes had a very successful day both with 21 points, winning the Trophy for a Bingara Pony Club member.  Jacqeline, 5 and Elli 15 have become arch enemies, tying for the trophy in their second competition.  The Trophy was presented by Bev Hart, Ian’s wife and one of the Club’s favourite patrons.

Meg Gillian and Tyler Berkley, on 27 points, tied for the Highest Overall Point score which won a rug donated by the Bingara Fruit Market.

Everything Equine, Tamworth donated rugs for the winners of the various jumping grades:
E Grade – Jacqueline Coombes
D Grade – Cassie Sinclair
C Grade – Alex Stones
B Grade – Jess Abra
A Grade – Jade McCosker

Jade McCosker won the overall point score and Jess Abra was runner up.

Gravesend Ribbon Day and ODE was heldon Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13.  Lucie Boyle, Lexie Brown and Josie Gibson represented Bingara Pony Club.
Lucie was successful in running second in all her sporting events and came third in the ODE.  Lexie also had some success coming fourth in the ODE and gaining some ribbons in other events.  Josie Gibson won her dressage and came second in the ODE.  Well done, girls.
