World renowned grazing consultant, Terry McCosker from Resource Consulting Services is one of the guest speakers at Double B Beef’s Risk Management Day, to be held in Bingara on June 17. Terry will be talking about making the most of rainfall, whenever and however it falls.
Other guest speakers include Joff Cannington, who is the Senior Rural Manager with Rabobank, based in Moree. Joff will be talking about the strong Australian dollar and its effect on the grazing industry, as well as where debt fits within the grazing sector.
Mark Johnson from C&W Partners in Moree will be addressing the gathering on the subject of Testamentary Trusts. This is a subject extremely pertinent to anyone who is a landholder. Within the field of estate planning, it is much more than just the matter of to whom you leave the family farm.
The beef industry is now quite dependant on the grain feeding sector and continuing high grain prices will impact on beef enterprise returns. How will beef producers handle the situation if grain stays at historically high levels?
Pete Mailler will talk about the issues of grain for fuel versus grain for food. He is a challenging thinker. He will look at the issue from the perspective of a grain grower who is also a beef producer.
This year will be the eighth annual risk management day for Double B Beef. The day never fails to challenge participants. It always provides ‘food for thought”!
