Inverell Campdrafters helping charities

September 29, 2010

The Inverell and District Campdraft Group Inc was formed in 2009.  The club is affiliated with the ACA, and the aim of the club is to assist and encourage new people into the sport as well as further the knowledge of existing campdrafters by holding training days.  Some of these training days invite outside instructors to come and teach members and their horses.

A major campdraft is held yearly and money is raised for charity. Last year’s recipient was the McGrath Foundation.  This year’s charity campdraft will be held at Ashford Showgrounds from October 8 to 10. It is estimated that there will be up to 1000 campdraft runs over the weekend.

This year the Inverell Campdraft Club has nominated NEVAT as the charity. NEVAT is the New England Volunteer Air Transport Inc. NEVAT was formed to help relieve the tyranny of distance for community members who need to travel long distances to medical appointments in places such as Tamworth, Armidale and Toowoomba. Whilst the aircraft is based in Ashford, it services clients from Texas, Bingara, Glen Innes, Warialda and Inverell. NEVAT is a truly volunteer organisation.

Individuals and businesses are invited to donate goods, services or money to add to the prize pool. In return your generous support would be mentioned in local newspapers and radio as well as at the grounds.

Anyone with questions or who wants to become involved in the club or the charity campdraft is invited to contact Bob Hoscher on 6725 1537.
