It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

November 26, 2015

With Christmas just around the corner, plans are underway for this year’s annual Bingara Christmas Carnival which will be held on Thursday 10th December at 6pm.

As in past years, the Bingara Lions Club has joined forces with the Bingara Special Events Committee and Gwydir Shire Council to present the evening. The Christmas concert will be the highlight of the evening, with local performers taking to the stage to sing old Christmas favourites, as well as some new Christmas songs with a twist.

Performers include Peter Caddy, Johnette Walker and John Bancroft, Jamie and Joey Lanagan, Rick Hutton, The Bingara Central School, and the very talented and extremely adorable students from Bingara Preschool.

The Christmas concert will kick off at 6.30pm in front of the Gwydir Shire Council Chambers, and at 8.00pm there will be a visit from a very special guest, the man of the moment, the big guy himself, Santa Clause. Santa will be handing out lollies and taking Christmas gift orders, so be sure to be on your best behaviour.

The concert concludes at 8.30pm with the lighting of the giant town Christmas tree.

The night will also include a Christmas tree decorating competition where teams of four will compete to decorate the best Christmas tree, market stalls, late night shopping and a free jumping castle for the kids sponsored by the Bingara Special Events Committee. Any community groups interested in holding a stall or would like to get involved in any way please contact the Bingara Visitor Information Centre on (02) 6724 0066.
