We’re late, we’re late for a very important date!

March 6, 2018

Clean Up Australia Day comes to Bingara again this year, but a week later than most of Australia. Traditionally held on the first Sunday in March, Bingara will celebrate the day a week later, on March 11.

First registrations will begin at 8 am at Cunningham Park where participants will be supplied gloves and bags. At midday Bingara Lions will put on a sausage sizzle for participants and the collected rubbish can be dropped off.

Clean Up Australia DayClean Up Australia day has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 1990 and has been instrumental in helping locals clean and then keep clean significant areas in their vicinity. It has grown steadily ever since and has also helped get the message home about cleaning up after you when you’re out-and-about; picnicking or fishing; camping or even on the golf course.

The following groups have agreed to focus on nominated areas but participants are welcome to work on areas that they know that would benefit. Gwydir Ark (Riverbank), Men’s Shed (gravel pit), Bingara Lion’s Club (Batterham’s Lookout), Upper Bingara Residents (Upper Bingara), The Bingara Garden Club (All Nations Hill) and the Whitlow Residents (Whitlow).

Children need to be accompanied by an adult and Clean Up Australia would like to remind people to Slip, Slop, Slap and drink plenty of water.
