September 21, 2009

Bingara girl, Lexi Hutton has arrived in England and has started studying for an Integrated Masters degree in Lyrical Performance, at the Royal College of Music, at Kensington. “The course involves all kinds of singing, not just opera, languages, movement, and a variety of other things,” Lexi said.

Lexi admits that leaving to study overseas is “the scariest thing I have done in my life,” but she has a number of good friends in Britian.

Lexi has reported her first day at RCM as “awesome”. “The course is very very full on, but we make of it what we want, so I’m going to do everything,” the always enthusiastic Lexi said.

She is the only Australian, and has met others from Britian and a few from USA.
Nearly 600 people auditioned for the course. Lexi reports there are “So many opportunities to sing, I can’t wait!” Parents, Rick and Susan Hutton are also glad of Facebook and other technology to lessen the distance.
