Local involvement in DVD production

August 4, 2008

When two health professionals decided to make a video to use in the education of people working with people who experience pain, they called the North West Theatre Company for some actors.

Key players in the production of ‘The Impeccable Assessment of Pain’, Angela Stones from Hunter New England Health, filmmaker Steve Webber, and Penny Abbington from HN McLean Memorial Retirement Village in Inverell.

Actors Glenda and Grant Wright turned up to play roles, but after talking to them, Angela and Penny found no acting was required, as both Glenda and Grant experience chronic pain. Their testimonials about experiencing pain are in DVD ‘The Impeccable Assessment of Pain.’

Another NWTC member, Nick Hutton, posed for still shots which are also used in the film.

In what was initially advice over a cup of coffee turned into major involvement for filmmaker Steve Webber.

The finished product was launched at the Roxy Theatre last Wednesday.

"This DVD provides essential information which is not going to date for a long, long time," Manager of the McLean Retirement Village, Inverell Paul Cooke, said.
