Locals successful in Toastmasters’ speech competition

November 19, 2007

The Toastmasters Area Conference was held at McIntyre High School, Inverell on Saturday, November 3, 2007. Forty members represented six clubs from Moree, Bingara, Inverell and Glen Innes. Guest for the day travelled from Roma, Tara and Brisbane.

Our local Toastmaster, Linda McDouall had a very successful conference, winning the Humorous speech section with a most entertaining presentation on the trials of shopping: trolleys, car parks at supermarkets and getting around the aisles and out through the check outs. A subject very real to all shoppers. Linda also achieved second place in the International speech, a very high level section.

Another of our Bingara members, Sue Moran, placed second in the Evaluation speech section. This speech involves the entrant in listening to and evaluating a previously unheard speech.

Bingara Toastmasters congratulate Linda and Sue on their excellent performances at the Area Conference.

Compliments, The Bingara Advocate
