Nominations open for business awards

Local businesses and employees who give excellent service can be recognised at the Gwydir community Awards.

Nominations are now open for awards which recognise business excellence in five categories. The categories are: Junior employee (under 21), Senior employee, Small Business (under five employees), Large Business (five employees or more), and the Agricultural Award.

The awards dinner will be held this year at the Roxy theatre on Friday, August 31. Tickets are $20 per person, and bookings can be made at Warialda High School.

This year nominations via email will be accepted, to margaret. smith15@det.nsw.edu.au for both Bingara and Warialda district nominations. Nominations do not have to be on the official Nomination forms as long as enough details are supplied for the judges to make their decision. Nominations close at close of business Friday, 10 August.

Nomination forms are also available from, and can be left at the Gwydir Sire Council offices, the Bingara Newsagency and the Warialda Newsagency. Vocational Education and School Based Apprentice and Trainee Awards will be presented to students from both Bingara Central School and Warialda High School in areas of their Vocational Training. The function will commence at 6.30 for a 7pm two course dinner. There will also be entertainment provided by some of our very talented students from Bingara Central School and Warialda High School.
