NWTC Auditioning “Likely Suspects” for Murder Mystery Dinners

October 25, 2007

Dateline Sunday November 4, 2:00pm Bingara Art’s Centre.

The North West Theatre Company will be auditioning players and crew for their next production. All are invited to come along to the Bingara Art’s Centre in Finch Street at 2:00pm.

On November 23, 24 and 30 and December 1, the NWTC will be staging four Murder Mystery Dinners at the Roxy Theatre in Bingara. The Dinners will form part of the Grand Opening Night of the blockbuster movie, POWAR AND GREED.

It is a year between the wars, and W. Anton Powar is about to launch his greatest work. There are rumours that the “movie” highlights the real life of the movie mogul and that many of the characters are based upon his celebrity friends and colleagues. It is said that many a shocking truth will be revealed in the movie.

Casting for the players and crew for POWAR AND GREED will take place at the Arts Centre in order to film some movie sequences.

Anyone interested in being a part of the cast and crew are encouraged to attend. No experience needed. No script to learn. Just a sense of character, storyline and fun will be required.

The Director for the Murder Mystery Dinners will be Rick Hutton. Rick is keen to put together a cast of players who will “come to dinner in the role of the key characters”.

“It is a great chance to play a part, improvise, and have a great feed, all in the one package.” Said Rick. “I will be looking for a range of males and females of age range mid teens to mature. There are six to eight movie characters, plus a number of character crew including photographers, reporters, waiters and waitresses, plus gals and goons.”

“The players will need to attend a couple of rehearsal runs as well as the four dinners.” Rick said. “The players will be in costume and will look and act just like they popped into the Roxy on opening night in 1936.”

The first night Murder Mystery Dinner on Friday November 23 is already booked out and there is a lot of interest from businesses across the region who are looking to have the show as their staff end of year treat.

Tickets are $30 per person for Show and Dinner. BYO drinks except for water. Bookings and enquiries can be made at Fay’s office or phone Rick Hutton on 0428 255 380.
