NWTC positive impact for over 10 years

November 12, 2014

The North West Theatre Company (NWTC) will be holding its AGM at the Imperial Hotel on Wednesday, November 19 at 6pm.

The AGM will record another very successful year for the company. During the year the NWTC has produced Pygmalion and The Curious Savage. Both productions were of a high professional standard in direction, costume, lighting, sound and acting. The productions attracted a regional audience, were profitable and thoroughly entertaining.

The NWTC produces much more than plays. Over the last ten years the NWTC has created opportunities for people to dabble in theatre and concerts. Many have taken ‘that giant’ step out into the spotlight and had a great deal of fun.

This fun has also been experienced by many students through the company’s pantomimes and joint school productions such as Big River Dreaming and Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat. Many youngsters have gained confidence by committing to a role and shining on stage.

At the AGM the NWTC will also acknowledge the positive working relationship it has with Roxy Management and the Gwydir Shire Council.

In consultation with Council, members of the NWTC renovated all of the 196 theatre chairs, and courtyard furniture.

All are very welcome to attend the NWTC AGM and the general meeting to follow. The company will be planning its 2015 program and all ideas and suggestions will be discussed.

The 2015 program will include more enjoyable play readings and movies through its Film Club.

The Film Club has been a successful addition to the Company with monthly screenings of classic movies and has a regular audience of over 30 people.
