NWTC September production promises to be a barrel of laughs

August 8, 2015

Following the huge success of his Inverell production, ‘Spectacular, Spectacular,’ Ben Daley will now move his focus, creative skills, and passion to the NWTC production of Lipstick Dreams.

Ben has directed and acted for the NWTC before. His last performance was in The Curious Savage in which he played the introverted concert pianist and war veteran, Jeffrey.

Ben is very grateful for the opportunity to direct again with the NWTC, “I really love this musical,” said Ben.

“The actresses have already put in a great deal of time and are ‘all but’ off script. I am fortunate to have Lee Louden acting as Assistant Director and she has been meeting with the cast for several weeks.

“Their progress has been fantastic and from this weekend we will be in full swing rehearsing on stage at The Roxy.”

The musical will star Nedine Young, Johnette Walker, Rebecca Turner, and Nikita Fraser. All are enjoying their roles.

“We have more time this production,” said Nedine.  “Meeting twice a week for the last month and with six weeks to go we are getting to know one another, having a hoot, and really connecting with our characters.

“It is a very funny play; the audience will be giggling and laughing loudly. I really enjoy hearing the audience enjoying themselves.

“I relish that interaction. At the same time, the play is quite poignant. My character moves me to the extent that in one particular monologue I cry every time.”

Lipstick Dreams is a musical that will make you laugh, move you, and above all entertain you. It is filled with classics from the 1960s and is the third NWTC production this year. It promises to deliver yet another fun, fresh and high quality professional experience.

Lipstick Dreams is on at the Roxy in September.
There will be two evening performances on September 12 and 19 and two matinees on September 13 and 20. Mark it in your calendar as a must see.
