On Course with Bingara Community College

February 24, 2010

Bingara Community College is pleased to welcome Ellie Skinner as our new coordinator.  Ellie replaces Lora Stokes who has taken a position with TAFE Moree -we wish her well in this new enterprise.

Ellie SkinnerEllie will be an asset to the college; her qualifications, experience and energy are well suited to the position.  We look forward to her input into adult education in Bingara and district.  Our office hours will now be from 10.00am – 12.30pm daily.

Over the last few weeks as well as our regular Lifestyle program we have held Responsible Conduct of Gambling and Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures courses.  At the latter we were informed that during 2010 it will become law for all workers and volunteers in the food handling industry to hold that qualification.  The college will run more of these courses during the year.  As well there is an Implement Food Safety Procedures for supervisors of food outlets which is running on March 3.

With the arrival of new furniture the interior of the Gwydir Learning Centre is now ready for both day and night classes. Our first class in the refurbished rooms on March 3 is An Introduction to Computers with a 5% deduction for Seniors’ Card holders.

All our offerings are in the brochure and monthly flyer available at the Library, Post Office, Council and Bingara Newsagency and in our advertisements in The Bingara Advocate. Please contact us for further information.
