Painting of the Preschool, inside and out, is the aim of the Bingara Pre school fundraising committee.
The Committee has organised an Art Exhibition, to be held at the Bingara Showground, which will feature the artwork of Preschool and Bingara Central School K-2 children, as well as some art and sculptures by local artists.
The exhibition will open on Friday, August 27, and ticket price of $15 per person or $35 per family includes entry and a two course meal.
The evening is Bring Your Own drinks.
Tickets are available from the Bingara Tourist Office, phone 6724 0066 or the preschool 6724 1105. Please book by Friday August 20.
Acclaimed artist and former Bingara boy, Owen Bilsborough, has donated a pastel which will be auctioned.
Any children or adults interested in showing their work should contact Janeane Pratt on 6724 1105.
All monies raised will go towards further upgrading the Bingara Preschool.
“Last year we improved the external area of the preschool by building a new sandpit with new shade towards the rear of the yard,” Nedine Young, President of the Bingara Preschool fundraising committee, said.
“We also erected new shade and soft fall to the climbing apparatus. We are hoping to raise enough money to enable the preschool to be repainted inside and outside,” Nedine said.
“We currently are conducting a raffle which will be drawn on the night of the exhibition.”
First prize is a package of two adult and two kids bikes worth $1000, from Bikes on Byron in Inverell.
Second prize is a load of firewood valued at $100, and third prize is two tickets to see The Carpenters from Kempsey at the Roxy in September.
Tickets will be on sale outside Fays and at the exhibition.
The exhibition is held at the conclusion of Children’s Book Week, and the Preschool will be conducting a book stall with books from the Social Book Club.
These will be on display from Monday August 23 to Thursday August 26, and will also be on display at the art exhibition.
