Putting Gwydir on the wedding destination map

May 9, 2013

If you have recently witnessed one of the many photo-shoots taking place throughout the Shire, you would be forgiven for thinking that Gunnedah girl and international superstar Miranda Kerr has stopped by to promote a new line for Myer.

While the models had good looks and grace to rival Miranda’s, they were in fact local models, promoting a local product.

The wedding photo-shoot starring eleven local models and a grey mare named ‘Outback’ featured over six locations within the Gwydir Shire, including the Gwydir River, local farms, Cranky Rock and the Roxy Theatre.

The aim of the shoot was to capture images for use in promotional materials such as on the Bingara website and expo banners to promote the Gwydir Shire as a unique and affordable destination for weddings.

Gwydir Shire Council would like to thank all participants and staff who volunteered their time to make the shoot happen.

A number of local people and businesses pitched in to help.

A special thanks to Villa Rouge, La Vogue and Nicky Galvin for providing props, hairstyling and makeup for the shoot; as well as the talented local photographers Louise Campbell, Clarissa Barwick and Rachel Sherman who captured the stunning images.

The Gwydir Shire will be taking part in the 2013 Tamworth Bridal Expo in June and will be showcasing the Shire as a fantastic destination for weddings.
