Reduced hours to stay at NAB

March 3, 2014

The National Australia Bank will continue to open from 10 am to 2 pm on Mondays to Fridays, and will not be reverting back to the former opening schedule of 9.30 am to 4.00 pm.

This was the blunt message from NAB’s Mid Coast and North West NSW Regional Executive, Retail, Kim Dahler, when she visited Bingara recently.

“The hours are staying, if we could we would (open for longer)”, she told the Advocate.

“Due to the uptake of telephone and internet banking, we are simply not getting the traffic through the doors.

“It must be remembered that we have to run a sustainable business.” Ms Dahler also stressed the NAB will not close the branch.

An automatic teller is also out of the question. “Logistically, we can’t put a hole in the wall of the building as it is Heritage Listed,” she said.

Ms Dahler acknowledged that NAB customers face a fee each time they withdraw cash from the ATM at the Credit Union.

Personal customers can, she said, make withdrawals at the Post Office without incurring a fee, and can also make a cash withdrawal then they make a purchase at Bingara IGA using their NAB card. This is also fee free.

Business and agri-business customers can now also make deposits at the Bingara Licenced Post Office.

A special deposit slip is needed, and customers can see manager, Evelyn Reilly to set up the process.
