Bingara Central School students, Jade Dixon and Kristen Heal, both retail trainees at H. Fay and Sons, were successful at the regional World Skills finals in Armidale last Thursday. Kristen won a Silver medal, while Jade won gold.

Their success continues a long line of award winning trainees who have worked at Fays. Jade won the Regional title with Kristen a close second.

Fay’s Manager, Rick Hutton was delighted to hear the news.  “Since Casey Cobcroft won the National Training Title quite a few years ago now, we have had regular entries and successes in the Work Skills.” he said. “Jade and Kristen continue in that achievement and we at Fays are very proud of them both.”

“Our trainee Kelly Welsh won the Bingara Young Employee of the Year Award this year, and so the successes of Jade and Kristen continue to show how good our young staff are,” he said.

“The School based Trainee Program gives students an excellent experience in this big sector of the work place, and along with their other HSC studies, their opportunity to work with the public and the chance to earn a wage while they do it, it is an all-round excellent program,” Rick said.

“I wish the two young ladies and all of our present and future trainees continuing success in their endeavours.” he concluded.
