“ROXY – where the heart is!”

February 24, 2009

In 2006 it was ROXY On Broadway,  in 2007 ROXY and Hammerstein and in 2008 Play it again…at the ROXY!

Once again the North West Theatre Company is presenting its annual variety concert, this year on Saturday March 28 …and of course, at the ROXY Theatre in Bingara.

And, once again, the performers will be appearing by invitation, and present talent from across the New England and North West.

The concert’s title theme for 2009 is …ROXY – where the heart is! and will focus on song, music and verse that reflect on HOME and HEART.

Returning to perform at ROXY – where the heart is! are, Bill Gleeson and Anne Walsh from Tamworth, Peter Caddy from Inverell, Barrapella from Barraba and The Narrabri Chorale. Also on the program will be Fiona Ozols from Bingara, and several other talented performers from across the region.

The full program for ROXY – where the heart is! will be announced at the end of February. Tickets will be available through H.Fay & Sons in Bingara, on 6724 1303 from March 1.

The theme of the concert is timely, given the tragic recent events occurring around our vast and varied land.

“HOME and HEART reflect images of family, community and love, which are probably the major themes in all music,” said NWTC President John Wearne, “ …so it will not be difficult for our performers to find items that depict the theme. The concert will be true variety, with soloists and groups, young and old, comic and dramatic, light hearted and serious,” John added. “I recommend everyone who loves good musical variety to attend.”
