Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Celebrates 100 years

November 23, 2007

St. Mary’s Church was filled to capacity on Sunday morning when the congregation celebrated the 100th anniversary of the current church building.

Father Castelli and Josephine Adam, grand daughter of Joseph Keenan, cut the 100th Anniversary cake at lunch following the service.

Included in the congregation were 30 descendants of the church’s builder, Joseph Keenan.

Coordinator of the celebrations, Bill O’Brien, said the day had gone very well. His son, Mark, rang the church bell 100 times to mark the occasion. A report of the event will appear in next week’s Advocate.
