Same bank, same address, different building

September 25, 2008

This photo shows the Bingara branch of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney in 1884, 10 years after it opened for business. Over 90 years later, in 1981, the bank merged with the National Bank of Australasia to form the bank we know as NAB.

NAB’s Bingara team is reflecting on the history of the people and communities which have shared the bank’s journey as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.

In 2008 NAB turns 150, and to celebrate, is telling the stories of the people, places and communities that have shared the bank’s rich history.
