All government schools in NSW celebrated SASS week, August 31 to September 4. Bingara Central School celebrated their SASS (School Administrative Support Staff) recognition with a delicious morning tea on Thursday September 3 and some words of appreciation from principal Jennifer Bird.
Ms Bird said how imperative SAS Staff are to the running of a school. At Bingara Central there are fourteen members of SASS, some full time, some part time and some casual.
Ros Goodwin is the longest serving SASS member, working at the school for fifteen years. Mrs Goodwin works everywhere in the school, from the Science labs in secondary to classroom work in Primary and the library. Judy Mack started at the school eleven years ago, and is now most likely the first person that visitors to the school will see, working in the front office.
David Brennan is the SAM which is the Staff Administration Manager. Other SASS members are Liss McDouall, Kate Muir, Kylie Robinson, Trevor Galvin, Lindsay Foster, Rob Coombes, Sarah Abra, Fiona Boyle, Dwayne Nolan, Jan Miller and Jenny McDouall.
Ms Bird explained how Bingara SASS are involved in the school from Kindergarten to Year 12, assisting with special needs and hearing impaired students, hospitality, helping coordinate excursions, finances, keeping the grounds neat and clean and general maintenance of the school.
