Strong nominations for Community Business Awards

A pleasing number of nominations have been received for the 2008 Gwydir Community Awards.

The awards are run in both Bingara and Warialda, and are supported by Bingara and District Vision 20/20, the Warialda and District Chamber of Commerce, and Gwydir Shire Council.

Winners from both centres will be announced at the Vocational Awards night on September 19.

The largest category in the Bingara awards was that of Senior Employee, with 19 nominations.

Six nominations for the Junior Employee award were received.

The Large Business category received four nominations, while the small business category received six nominations.

Stephen Baker was the only nomination for the Agricultural Award, as a rural employee of excellence. He was also nominated in the Senior Employee category.
