Tamworth man wins Super Draw

June 1, 2011

The Small Clubs’ Super Draw has finally been won. A member of the South Tamworth Bowling Club won the $43,000 prize last Wednesday night, after spending the day in Moree. The man normally drives the club’s courtesy bus, but had last Wednesday night off. His friends talked him into going to the club to watch the State of Origin game, and half an hour after he arrived at the club, the draw was held.

The win was met with applause in each of the ten clubs taking part in the Super Draw, including the Bingara Returned Services Club, where only a month ago, a local man missed out on $39,000 when he wasn’t at the club for the draw. The draw continues but starts at $10,000 again, increasing by $1000 until it is won.
