Time to nominate our best citizens

Gwydir Shire Council (Special Events and Projects Committee) and the Australia Day Council of NSW are searching for the NSW Local Citizen of the Year for Australia Day 2011.

Do you know someone in our community who has done countless volunteer hours for a service organisation, a local sporting or community group or an educational facility? Do you know someone in our community who has an outstanding achievement in their work or studies? Gwydir Shire Council (Special Events and Projects Committee) and the Australia Day Council of NSW invite you to nominate this individual for the 2011 NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards. 

The Awards are presented at official ceremonies throughout New South Wales on Australia Day,  January 26, 2012. The Awards allow local communities to recognise the contributions that many individuals make to their community each year.

We are proud to recognise these individuals whose contributions and achievements illustrate our Australian culture and what it means to be Australian. Nominations with appropriate supportive material will be accepted from organisations and individuals up until close of business (4 pm) at the Gwydir Shire Council, Bingara Offic on Wednesday November 9, 2011.
