On Saturday the Advocate under 8s travelled to Inverell to play Inverell West. It was a cold and windy day, but the boys went onto the field with determination.
At the end of the first quarter the score was 8-8. Bingara managed to get ahead for a while and, at half time, it was anyone’s game. They made some great runs with Isaak Johnson, Xavier Smith, Sam Mahoney and Thomas Young all making very enthusiastic dashes that saw them pulled up just before the line.
Jake White scored Bingara’s two tries in combination with some good runs by Steven Todd and Seth Keam. Jack Armstrong, Toby White and Tyler Greacen showed passion and some good tackling skills.
Great improvement in off-loading, particularly by Lincoln Barton and Andrew McGarrity, showed that the team is really coming together despite the win going to Inverell.
